International Kodály Symposium
Kecskemét, Hungary, 4-8 August
I will be presenting a workshop during the above symposium in Kecskemét Hungary this August.
It will be really meaningful to do so in the city where Zoltán Kodály, the well-kown ethnomusicologist and Music Educator was born.
Workshop Title: Kenyah folk songs from Borneo applied to music pedagogy and performance
This interactive session will feature 5 Kenyah songs, (Ilun Pesak Paku, Sua Ulem, Along, Chin M’bi, Ne lan-e Pu’un) in a variety of scales, and applicable to different levels of music learning. Video-clips of field recordings and stage performances of the songs, will be shown, followed by participatory singing and explorations of their applications in music education guided by Kodály principles.
